The Education Specialists are recruiting for a SEMH secondary school in Liverpool who aim to inspire, education and encourage students who may have been permanently excluded from mainstream education or who are at risk of being excluded.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant you will be required to work closely with the classroom Teacher to provide a positive and encouraging classroom environment You will support students with a range of abilities across a variety of subjects, ensuring students are engaged in lessons. The school is looking for classroom-based teaching assistants and those who could support students as a 1-1 support within the school environment.

The position is offered on a full-time, term time only basis. Daily rate £60 – £65 depending on experience.

What The Educational Specialists need from you:

  • Experience of working in a high school with students who have SEMH needs is essential.
  • Strong behaviour management skills – good de-escalation strategies
  • Good sickness record
  • Experience of supporting students in small groups.
  • Professional manner including personal presentation
  • Enthusiastic, positive and friendly approach
  • Resilience and a sense of humour
  • Team Teach Trained – Or be willing to obtain this training (through ourselves)
