Are you an experienced SEND teacher looking for day to day supply work?

The Education Specialists are recruiting for SEND schools across Liverpool!

A number of SEND schools across Liverpool require experienced SEND teachers to be available September 2020 for day to day supply teaching to support the current changes that have had to be made to classes. With schools needing to adapt to new measures as of September 2020 The Education Specialists are in need of supply staff as some schools will be splitting classes in order to comply with current COVID guidance. Both full and part time hours will be available. Having access to a car is advantageous but not essential.

It is essential that candidates applying for this role have experience of working with students who have SEND needs and are familiar with appropriate behaviour management strategies. Candidates who hold a Team Teach qualification are encouraged to apply. Class sizes will remain small with 8 students or less in. You will be responsible for assessment and planning appropriate lessons that encourage students to participate in class. The right candidate will adopt a nurturing approach and will be comfortable liaising with parents, carers and other education professionals.

The right SEND Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Comply with all COVID safety measures put in place by schools
  • Have experience of working in a SEN School environment supporting students with a variety of Special Needs
  • Deliver tailored engaging lessons to meet the needs of all students
  • Use de-escalation techniques effectively in the classroom
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Manage Teaching Assistants effectively
