The Education Specialists are recruiting on behalf of a SEMH School in Liverpool. The schools aim is to develop healthy, happy and confident children who are ready and open to learning. Students at this school may be struggling with dealing with difficult life events so candidates should be; empathic, energetic, resilient and focussed.

The school are currently recruiting teachers who have experience of teaching KS3 & KS4 students who have SEMH needs. The school is interested in interviewing candidates from all subject backgrounds to see what can be offered to the existing curriculum. Successful candidates will have an understanding that they will need to be a positive role model and be able to support students who present challenging behaviours. Staff at this school are well supported and CPD opportunities are offered to all staff.

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of teaching KS3 & KS4 students with SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills – good use of de-escalation strategies
  • Professional manner including professional dress code
  • Resilience, positive and have a sense of humour
  • Team Teach Trained – or be willing to obtain this training through TES
  • Good sickness record
  • Experience of organising staff within their own classroom environment

Desirable criteria:

  • Educators with a therapeutic background
  • Knowledge of LASS Dyslexic screening Assessment
  • Experience of using resilience scales
  • Experience of using Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT4)
  • Knowledge of Attachment Disorders
