  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
  • Deliver planned learning, wellbeing and SEMH interventions.
  • Adapt approaches and resources to help students access learning.
  • Support students during lessons, transitions, breaktimes and other less-structured periods.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, wellbeing and behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to create a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and contribute to the welfare of all students.

About You

We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient, empathetic and passionate about supporting young people.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management and positive behaviour strategies.
  • The ability to remain calm and consistent when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • A relevant Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, or equivalent experience.

Experience with EHCPs, behaviour support plans, targeted interventions, de-escalation techniques or SEMH programmes would be advantageous.
