Salary: £100 – £110 PAYE Per Day

We are looking to appoint a compassionate, dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in Norris Green, Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide high-quality one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Work alongside class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver personalised learning programmes and targeted interventions.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and promote engagement.
  • Support pupils’ communication, emotional regulation, independence and social development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour using consistent and nurturing approaches.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews, observations and record keeping.
  • Help create an inclusive classroom environment where every child can flourish.
  • Promote the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND, either in a school or similar setting.
  • Has a patient, caring and positive approach to supporting children.
  • Can build effective relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is adaptable, proactive and able to use their own initiative.
  • Has a good understanding of a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and learning difficulties.
  • Is committed to promoting inclusion and ensuring every child reaches their potential.

Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential. Applications from candidates with suitable experience and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs are welcomed.
